Stoke Newington - 'Stokey' to the locals - has come a long way in recent years. It's gone from being a rather edgy environment to somewhere that's renowned as a hub for creatives and professionals, and which now attracts large numbers of families too. With its leafy streets, great schools and wealth of local amenities it's perhaps no surprise that Stokey has become such a desirable spot to occupy.

  • It's particularly attractive to young families. The average age of those living in Stoke Newington is now 33, which is prime young family territory. Many people now look to Stoke Newington if they are trying to upsize from other locations, such as Islington. It's still slightly more affordable than the more expensive areas but has moved firmly into 'desirable' territory thanks to the gentrification of this part of London.

Clissold Park, for example, is 55 acres and even has a lake and deer herds. There are also smaller green spaces in the area, such as Butterfield Green, which can provide a location for a much needed stroll and safe environments for children to play.
  • A lot to see and do. From nurseries and play centres through to the amenities of the Clissold Leisure Centre, Stoke Newington offers a vast range of options when it comes to activities.
